About COG

45+ Years of manufacturing expertise

Established in 1977 by Christina and Oral Guvencel, the company name COG is their initials.
COG was the first company in the manufacturing history of coated foam balls.

In the 70’s & 80’s the balls were produced in a small workshop. The product was well liked all around the world and the orders increased.  At the end of 80’s, the small workshop was replaced by a new 2500 m2 area. Currently we house our production in a modern building of over 4000 m2 and continuously expanding. The company is owned by Johan Kåreby and Roger Johnsson, with over 40 employees.

Superior Quality

Our products are cut from large, 2-4 m3 foam-blocks. COG´s own, in house developed and built machine and robot park have a measuring tolerance of 1/100mm. This results in the most perfect spherical shape.

Over 45 years we have developed the coating to perfection for today´s market: a skin that is flexible, yet extremely strong with a minimum shrink-factor. This skin provides the product a long lastning lifespan. Our coating comes in various colors and contains no hazardous chemicals.

COG products have been tested by accredited insitutions for Toy and Sport Markets.

Two Layer Coating

We use as a standard, two-layer coating process on our foam balls to ensure that the colors become deeply integrated with the foam, rather than simply sitting on the surface.

The first layer helps the color bond closely with the foam structure, creating a strong foundation. The second layer adds extra protection and durability. It helps seal the color into the ball, reducing wear, fading, and surface damage during use. This makes the ball more resistant to repeated handling, impact and general play.

By using two coating layers, we achieve a better-looking, longer-lasting foam ball with colors that stay bright and a surface that maintains its quality over time.

Product Development

We have extended our color selection; standard colors, neon line, super-grip coating, heat sensitive, glow-in-dark, scribble, metal effects and multicolour versions. There are further expansions and ongoing improvments that will bring new, exciting developments to our products.

Delivery Capacity

In our 4000 m2 production area several lines are run simultaneously. We have the ability and capacity to increase production to handle large volumes. We have increased our production significantly and extended our machine park. This means we are able to deliver to our customers in 4 weeks. We do not keep stock, we manufacture on demand.

Today we deliver 1-2 containers (40’HC)/week and can easily extend it to 4×40’HC/week.
